The European Robotics Forum 2025 (ERF2025), held in Stuttgart, became a prominent stage for showcasing cutting-edge developments in industrial robotics and AI-driven solutions. Among the featured innovations, the IGENZERO project drew significant attention at the booth of the Centre for Automation and Robotics (CAR), a joint initiative of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).

Presented by researchers Rodolfo Haber and Fernando Castaño, IGENZERO stood out as a next-generation solution for intelligent energy management in manufacturing. The project leverages advanced data analytics and AI technologies to achieve near-zero energy waste in industrial operations — a goal that resonates strongly with Europe’s commitment to sustainability and green transition.

During the three-day event, Haber and Castaño engaged with industry professionals, researchers, and policymakers, showcasing how IGENZERO integrates seamlessly into modern factory environments. Demonstrations at the CAR (UPM-CSIC) stand illustrated the system’s capacity to adapt in real-time to changing process conditions, optimize energy use, and contribute to overall operational efficiency.

The presence of IGENZERO at ERF2025 underscores its growing relevance in the European research and innovation landscape and highlights the ongoing efforts of UPM-CSIC to bridge academic research with industrial impact.
